Supernovas vs Control Freaks by Caden Breshears

Hello, everybody! This is Jack here with the AYSO game, the Supernovas vs the Control Freaks. In this game, it was an almost evenly matched game; the Supernovas' record is 4-2 and the Control Freaks' record is 0-6. In the first quarter, Josie scored a corner kick by curving the ball in (for the Control Freaks). At the end of the half, the score was 1-0 in the Control Freaks favor. The Supernovas were really mad because they were losing. Then in a desperate attempt to tie the game, Supernova player Kevin shot and scored. It was back and forth while teams were going at each other with a sudden ferocity. Then in a brilliant run, Emma shot and scored for the Supernovas.. The score was 2-1 in the Supernovas favor. Then in the final two minutes Josie got injured to where she had to be taken out of the game. Then Kevin kicked the ball to teammate Caden who scored. The score was 3-1. Then after the kickoff, Kevin took the ball and dribbled past 3 people and shot! Deflection! With the follow up, Emma scored. The score was 4-1. Three whistles blew and that was the game. Congratulations, Supernovas, and good night.

"Live" Broadcast of Patriots' Day School Event by Alena

It's 9/11 this fine Monday and we are reporting on the ceremony being held at Round Valley Middle School.  This is the school's first time doing this ceremony, so let's see how it goes.  They have all the students from every grade level out here supporting this.  We see the choir students and some band students ready to sing and play.  This patriotic event was an idea from Mrs. Rose, the 5th grade writing teacher.  They are starting off with Mrs. Udall's 5th graders doing sign language to the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Mrs. Robinson. As you can see, they were ready for this and are doing so well.  Now, they have Mrs. Flores' choir students performing. A special visitor who served in the Vietnam War is joining the choir group, Mr. Crowther.  What an honor to have him here singing with us.  The songs are so beautiful.  Now we have Addison playing the flute as a solo.  Liam and Riley join us after Addison, playing  on trumpet.  In the next few moments, we have a reading from Mrs. Rose.  She's talking about how wonderful the performances were and about the chills she got from the beautiful songs by the students.  She is reading some important information about 9/11 found online and you could go check it out online to learn more.  The event was ended with the crowd chanting U-S-A!  I think the Round Valley Middle School will be doing this ceremony to honor our brave country for many years since it went so well.  We thank all the people who came out to see this and we will be back to report this again next year.

Patriots' Day by Mackenzie

Today, the Round Valley Middle School had a flag ceremony because it is Patriots' Day.  We celebrate this day because America was very brave and became a stronger country.  This  was the day that the Twin Towers and the Pentagon had a plane crash into them.  The RVMS ceremony was very special.  The event was planned by Mrs. Rose and she did an amazing job.  First, Mrs. Udall led us in the Pledge of Allegience while Mrs. Robinson and the class were doing sign language.  It was very beautiful.  Next, Addison gave a solo on her flute.  She played the Star Spangled Banner.  She did so amazing and it seemed to give everyone chills.  Next, we had a moment of silence.  During the moment of silence, Liam and Riley were playing their trumpets.  You could really feel all the patriotism during that moment.  Lastly, the honor choir sang two beautiful songs.  The songs were "God Bless America" and "I Will Stand."  9/11 is a very special day and it's a day to remember.

Genuine Dance Team by Nellie

On Friday, September 1st, the Genuine Dance Team performed during half time at the Round Valley versus Tempe Prep game.  The team performed a dance choreographed by teammate Wiley, a Round Valley high school student.  The dance itself was much more advanced than their previous performances.  They spent many hours working on perfecting this dance.  "I feel that everyone did amazingly and that the crowd was entertained the whole time," said dancer Izzy.  Coach Erica Scarbrough said, "It is one of our more advanced and tiring dances, but my dancers performed it terrifically." Once the dance was over and the dancers walked off the field, they were tired but thay had huge smiles on their faces.  "It was a totally different thrill than last week's dance." says fellow dancer Amilee.  I am very excited to see what else this team has to show us.
