Secret in the Garden by Anikah

It was just a simple gardening project.  Who knew we would find this...

We were just about done tilling the ground, Leeann and I, so I said I'd go get some flowers.  But as I came back outside, I heard a scream.  I looked up to see Lee clawing at the ground as it fell away under her feet.  I dropped the flowers and reached out to help her, but the ground beneath me collapsed,.  As I fell, I hit my head on a rock and everything went black!

"Anikah!" I heard Leann's voice call out my name,, but it seemed distant and  I listened to see if I could hear it again.  "Sorry." Was all I heard before I felt a sharp pain in my cheek and my body jolted up.  I took in a big gulp of air before going into a coughing fit.

As I calmed down, I looked around and all I saw were headless statues all in a row, and glowing blue crystals all around.  I looked at Lee and asked, "Where...where are we?"  Lee looked at me with all seriousness and said, "I don't know, Anikah, but we need to get out of here.  I've got a creepy feeling about this place."  I nodded and stood up.  I heard an eerie voice saying, "You'll never escape, not without finding me..."  I looked at Lee, and she nodded, so we headed off into what appeared to be ruins.

It had been hours since Lee and I started going through the ruins and we finally seemed to be .  The room we were in seemed bare, except for a suspiciously large cage, dark except for two creepy, glowing white eyes.  The voice from earlier called, "So, you finally found me, mortals..."

To be continued.

Why Honesty is Important in a Friendship by Josie

"A best friend won't agree with you to make you happy.  If anything, they'll say what needs to be said, no matter if you want to hear it or not." (Anonymous).  This quote demonstrates why honesty is important in a friendship.  You need to tell the truth to your friends so you can develop trust.  Friends must be able to give each other honest feedback, opinions, and advice.  Without honesty, the relationship would crumble.  If friends told lies to each other, how could they get along? Friends need to be able to trust each other so they can talk about their problems.  A good relationship needs to be built upon relying on each other, comforting each other, talking about their difficulties in life, and asking for advice.  You can't do that if you're not honest.  Honesty is a huge part of a frienship and must be excercised.  Take time to be honest to your friends.  Develop trust and you'll have a good healthy relationship.

Honesty in Friendship by Kaitlyn G.

"Nothing builds a stronger connection than an honest friendship."  (Anonymous). Honesty is one of the most important things in a friendship.  It is important because it builds trust, creates a stronger connection, and forms an overall closer friendship. It builds trust because it builds a stronger connection.  For example, think of lying to a friend as crumbling up a paper.  You can smooth it over again, but it won't be the same as it was before.  Last, honesty creates an overall closer friendship.  Telling the truth to each other will help strengthen your friendship.  In conclusion, honesty is important in frienships because it builds trust, creates a stronger connection, and builds a stronger and better friendship.  Why do you think honesty is important in friendship?

My Radical Summer by Keaton

Many students have had a fantastic summer vacation.  But how was mine, you may ask?  Well, my summer was filled with so many adventures.  Some were amazing, breathtaking, unique, exciting and extravagant.  First, I had a Brazilian soccer camp over at Snowflake.  At first it was scary because I knew no one, but by the end of the week I met a new friend. His name was Adam.  After camp, my cousins, Ezra, Ally, Simon, and Ryan came to visit.  We went to Ramsey Park, played video games, board games, and all the fun stuff.  But sadly, they had to go home the next week, but still it was fun.

I still have more adventures to tell you about.  After the Fourth of July, I went to a week long scout camp called Camp Raymond, and oh man it was long.  Most of the time I was thinking about going to bed. While I was there, I was in a cooking class.  I guess I was okay, but I have mushroom for improvement.  I know right- I'm cooking up a storm.  Get it? Okay I'll stop.  Back to business.

So after Camp Raymond was over, I traveled back to Round Valley.  Whew! Almost done!  OK, the last awesome adventure to tell you about.  I'll give you a hint.  It's green and is an island.  It's Hawaii!  We stayed at a Disney resort on Oahu.  We swam at the beach, and we even got to go wakeboarding.  I even got stung by a jellyfish which wasn't that fun. Everything was green.  There were these huge mountains also.  The one thing that I disliked was how expensive everything was.  Here is an example.  Milk here is $two fifty a gallon, while there it is $5 a gallon. After we arrived back home, school came and smacked me in the face.  In conclusion, my vacation was filled with outstanding adventures.  Did you have an outstanding vacation?
